The Gene Franchini scholarship was established in 1997 in honor of the Justice who was a devoted supporter of the mock trial program for nearly a quarter century. His unfailing passion for helping young people learn about his favorite subject led him to serve each year as a judge in regional, state and national mock trial. This year's scholarship recipient is Mariel Jones from Amy Biehl High School. She will receive $1000 towards college expenses.
